Enhancing energy levels: Nicotinamide Mononucleotide, Iron, and longevity supplements

ree

Delighted to present NMN. NMN boosts NAD levels, both of which are heavily involved in energy production.

NMN is one of the major compounds involved in NAD production, so if you are looking to increase your energy levels, NMN is worth considering.

NMN and Nicotinamide Riboside (NR) are two of the major players involved in boosting NAD levels.

Energy production is a complex process, and this is in no way the be-all and end-all. If you want to boost your energy levels, boosting NAD is one avenue to go down, but you should also be looking at the bigger picture.

Consuming heme iron ( the type of iron that the body can rapidly absorb ), alongside a dose of Vitamin C ( to enhance the iron absorption), is another example of how the body works to produce energy!

A suggestion for this would be;

Red meat and a glass of orange juice

If this is something that will stick with you, adding B12 alongside Heme iron and Vitamin C will further assist the body in producing energy.

For vegans, getting Heme iron from plant-based food sources is not possible. In saying this, non-heme iron (plant-based foods) will have to do!

Non-heme iron is accepted by the body to produce energy; it's just that it's used less efficiently compared to heme iron.

However, we do have a remedy for this! As mentioned earlier, consuming vitamin C and B12 assists the body in using both heme and non-heme iron to produce energy.

So, for a vegan ( someone eating non-heme iron ), there should be a bit more emphasis on including vitamin C and B12 alongside their plant-based food source of non-heme iron.

An example of this would be;

Apricots, figs, or prunes (non-heme iron sources ), alongside orange juice (vitamin C), alongside a source of B12. Again, B12 is harder to come by outside of meat products; you may have to go down the route of fortified products or even supplements.

On that note, that is a good example of how supplements can be an ideal option.

Parting advice: Do your research on this, discover what foods work for you and which foods fit in with your routine, assess this, and maybe consider supplements.

What's your remedy?
