How does this recipe support overstimulation?

This one is a good example of how a sweet treat can still bring something useful to the table.

Dark chocolate and cacao contribute magnesium, a mineral involved in normal nerve and muscle function and energy metabolism. Pistachios provide vitamin B6, which is involved in normal nervous-system function and the metabolism of amino acids used to make neurotransmitters.

Silken tofu adds protein, while extra virgin olive oil provides monounsaturated fats and polyphenols. Most importantly, it’s super simple, make-ahead and requires very little effort at serving time, which is exactly the kind of dessert that works when you’re already feeling mentally full.

Dark Chocolate & Cacao

Dark chocolate and cacao are natural sources of magnesium and cocoa polyphenols. Magnesium plays an important role in normal nerve signalling, muscle function and energy metabolism, while cocoa polyphenols provide antioxidant activity.

Pistachios

Pistachios provide vitamin B6, magnesium, healthy fats and some protein.

Vitamin B6 contributes to normal nervous-system function and is involved in the metabolism of amino acids used in neurotransmitter production.

Silken Tofu

Silken tofu gives the mousse its creamy texture while contributing plant-based protein.

Protein provides amino acids used throughout the body and helps make this dessert feel more substantial and satisfying.

Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Extra virgin olive oil adds richness and a beautiful silky finish while providing monounsaturated fats and naturally occurring polyphenols.
